Yorktown Woman, 22, Charged With Failing To Pay Fine

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. – Bernadetta Nokaj, a 22-year-old Yorktown resident, was arrested Saturday on a bench warrant and charged with failure to pay a fine, according to Yorktown police.

Police said that an officer stopped a vehicle for travelling above the posted speed limit on Route 202. Following an investigation at the scene, police found that Nokaj, a passenger in the vehicle, had two active bench warrants out of Yorktown Town Court for failing to pay a fine, police said.

Nokaj was placed under arrest and transported to the Yorktown Police Department for processing. Following processing on the warrants, Nokaj was arraigned in the Town Court and released on $1,000 bail to appear in Town Court on Thursday at 6 p.m.
