Yorktown Woman, 73, Charged With Letting Dog Run Loose

YORKTOWN, N.Y. – A 73-year-old Yorktown woman was charged Monday for allegedly allowing her dog to run loose, police said.

Police responded to Longhill Drive around 4:41 p.m. and saw a pit bull running around unrestrained, according to the report. The woman was issued a dog-at-large violation and is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 24.

The following items also were reported by Yorktown police:

Phoenix House Damage: A 16-year-old Brooklyn boy was charged Monday, Dec. 17, with fourth-degree criminal mischief, a misdemeanor. Police said he had damaged property at the Phoenix House on Stoney Street in an incident that was reported about 11 a.m. He is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 24.

Suspended License: A traffic stop on Friday, Dec. 14, resulted in several traffic violations and a charge of driving with a suspended license against a 30-year-old Peekskill man, police said. The driver was pulled over about 9:30 p.m. when he allegedly made an illegal left turn onto Route 6. A routine check revealed that his driver's license had been suspended for failing to pay a fine, according to the report. He was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor, and received three traffic infractions. He is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 24.

Suspended License: A 22-year-old Yorktown woman was charged Friday, Dec. 14, with two misdemeanors for allegedly driving with a suspended license and registration, police said. The woman was pulled over about 2:45 p.m. for having a defective brake light, police said, which resulted in an additional violation. She is schedule to appear in court Jan. 24.
