Yorktown Woman Charged After Vehicles Are Damaged

YORKTOWN, N.Y. - A Yorktown woman was held at Westchester County Jail earlier this week after she was accused of damaging a police car following her arrest on charges she damaged her husband's vehicle.

Yorktown Police were summoned to Woodland Drive on July 17 at 1:25 p.m., to investigate a domestic incident. Michelle Martino, 39, was accused of intentionally backing her vehicle into her husband's car several times, causing more than $3,000 in damages.

During the course of the investigation, police said Martino became agitated and unruly and was placed in the rear seat of a police vehicle. Martino was accused of kicking at the door, causing $975 in damages to the door frame and window.

Martino, who was charged with felony criminal mischief in the second and third degrees, was arraigned by Yorktown Town Justice Sal Lagonia and sent to jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail.

In other police activity,

Aggravated Harassment: On July 18, police arrested and charged Eduardo Simon, 34, of the Bronx, with aggravated harassment in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor. He was accused of sending harassing and threatening text messages to a Yorktown resident two days earlier. A temporary order of protection was issued. Simon is due in court on July 24.

Forcible Touching: On July 19 at 3 a.m., police arrested an unidentified 18-year-old Yorktown resident, who was charged him with forcible touching, a class A misdemeanor. Police received a call from a 17-year-old female stating she had attended a party when the susoect forcibly grabbed her private area through her clothes. The suspect was arrested by Police Officer Lauren Rodriguez on Route 202. A temporary order of protection was issued and the suspect was sent to Westchester County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
