Katz is the lead sponsor of Assembly Bill 2590, which drastically would reduce the regulatory burden on military spouses receiving licensing for their employment.

"New York must reduce the red tape surrounding the licensing of military spouses who have been relocated to New York," Katz said in a statement. "With this legislation, I hope to eradicate the horror stories of Albany preventing the spouses of our heroes from working in a field they love. These people have sacrificed for our country, and our state leaves them behind. The amount of red tape these families have to deal with is ridiculous, even by New York's standards. Let's pass this bill and make life a little easier on the families of our nation's heroes."
