With 94 percent of the vote in, Trump had 61 percent of the vote to Gov. John Kasich's 25 percent and Sen. Ted Cruz's 15 percent. Trump is projected to have won 88 delegates.
Flanked by his family and supporters, Trump vowed to address the problems facing New York if elected.
"We went all over New York State," Trump said. "New York State has problems like virtually every other state in the union. Our jobs are being sucked out of our states. They're being taken out of our country. We're not going to let it happen anymore. We're gonna stop it. The people of this state truly are great and amazing people."
Trump vowed to rebuild America's military and to take care of America's veterans.
"Nobody is going to mess with us," Trump said. "Our vets are great people. We have forgotten our vets. Illegal immigrants are taken care of better than our vets. That's not going to happen anymore."
The businessman also vowed to eliminate Obamacare and Common Care. With the win, Trump has 848 of the 1237 delegates needed to win the nomination. Cruz has 558 and Rubio has 130.
"We don't have much of a race anymore," Trump said. "We're really really rocking. We expect to have an amazing number of weeks."
Trump said the current system of picking delegates is "rigged" and vowed to change it.
"Nobody should take delegates and claim victory unless they get those delegates with voters and voting and that's what's going to happen," Trump said. "The people aren't going to stand for it. We're going to go back to the old way- it's called you vote and you win."
Trump, who owns Trump Tower in Manhattan as well as an estate in Bedford, also owns Trump National Golf Club Hudson Valley in Stormville and Trump National Westchester in Briarcliff Manor.
