Republicans Put Alice Roker in Back of The Bus

Articles in our local papers as well as network nightly news coverage reported that Yorktown’s Republicans have come under fire for sending out a campaign mailing that some have criticized for being anti-Semitic and racist. I will give Supervisor Michael Grace and Deputy Supervisor Gregory Bernard the benefit of the doubt on this one. Grace and Bernard probably just wanted to continue to show disdain toward their Democratic opponents and people that they generally disagree with as they routinely do at Town Board meetings and lost control because of their win at any cost mentality. I guess when you can't argue the facts, and have no original ideas of your own you simply resort to attacking people. F.Y.I.. It's never a good idea to dehumanize and portray minority individuals or people of a different religion as less than your equal, and a worst idea to attach ropes to African-Americans because it conjures up images on the Deep South. News Flash...Susan Siegel isn't even on the ballot and isn't running for anything.

I just received another Republican mailing worst then the first. This time the Republican campaign propaganda portrays Susan Siegel driving a bus and looks like Grace, Bernard and Company had nowhere else to put Alice Rocker but on the back of that bus. That seems racist and I cannot in good conscience give them any benefit of the doubt. That was plain wrong and shows a pattern of insensitivity and disrespect that they both have been accused of and displayed many times in the past. Has the Republican Party made Alice Roker into Yorktown’s version of Rosa Parks? Would Susan Sigel even be in these Republican Party mailings if she didn't bring an ethical complaints against Supervisor Grace with the NY Bar Association for unprofessional attorney conduct? On many occasions I witnessed incensed taxpayers at Town Board meetings publicly chastised the entire Republican Majority Council members for openly mocking and ridiculing Councilman Patel. That's a pattern of disturbing behavior that needs to be addressed in the voting booth.
