Yorktown Republican board members have become the ”Time Bandits.”
By reducing the amount of times for courtesy of the floor, they have cut down the right of free speech at our town board meetings.
At work sessions, the supervisor refuses to turn on the microphones so residents attending the meeting can hear what is being discussed.
In my opinion, Supervisor Michael Grace has become a dictator with his crony board members comprised of bullies, puppets and rubber stamps.
I am a 45 year resident of Yorktown and President of the United Taxpayers of Yorktown. The UTY’s mission is to inform the public by speaking out on the issues of taxes at all level of government. The UTY members get no respect.
Here are some examples at the town budget hearings where we bring up how to reduce the budgets by using a fund balance (surplus).
This year the town had over $7,000,000 in surplus that is not assigned for any spending. Not a nickel was used to reduce taxes.
One our members and his wife discovered that Supervisor Grace hadn’t paid his property taxes since 2013 that were over $30,000 and his properties were under assessed. Our member was told by Supervisor Grace that he will never be allowed to speak at any town board meetings again.
Do you pay your taxes on time? Do you believe in freedom of speech? Do you think that there should be two courtesies of the floor, first time at the start of the meeting and then another time at the end when all town business has been completed, I do?
Call me at 914-245-1018 and join the UTY, go to our web-site at Yorktownopengov.net to links to important information for you the taxpayer.
Ed Ciffone, President of the United Taxpayers of Yorktown
