Trump departed from Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan in a morning motorcade to La Guardia Airport for a flight on a military jet to Washington, D.C.
Trump and his family attended a “Make America Great Again!” concert and celebration late Thursday afternoon at the Lincoln Memorial.
The family will be spending Thursday night at the Blair House near the White House.
Inauguration festivities begin at 11:30 a.m. Friday on the West Front of the Capitol building.
Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas will administer the oath of office to Vice President-elect Mike Pence and Chief Justice John Roberts to Trump at around noon.
Trump will then deliver his inaugural address, which is expected to last around 20 minutes and begin with a show of thanks to President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama for their support during the transition process that began after Trump defeated Chappaqua's Hillary Clinton in the Nov. 8 presidential election.
Trump and Pence will then review American armed forces before leading the inaugural parade down Pennsylvania Avenue to the White House.
Donald and Melania Trump are then expected to attend three Inaugural balls Friday night.
Trump and Pence will attend a National Prayer Service Saturday morning at the Washington National Cathedral.
There have been media reports that Trump plans a visit to the offices of the Central Intelligence Agency in Langley, Va., sometime Saturday.
Trump, who owns the $19.5 million Seven Springs estate in Bedford, also owns Trump National Golf Club Hudson Valley in Stormville and Trump National Westchester in Briarcliff Manor. The Trump name also adorns Trump Tower At City Center in White Plains, Trump Plaza in New Rochelle, Trump Park Residences in Yorktown and the Donald J. Trump State Park on the Westchester/Putnam border.
