PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- A recent poll released by NBC News and The Wall Street Journal suggests that the American public remains largely divided when it comes to a possible presidential run by Chappaqua's Hillary Clinton.

The poll said 38 percent of registered voters would support the former first lady, secretary of state and U.S. senator for president while 37 percent would oppose her candidacy, according to NBC News.

Clinton's stronghold on Democrats remains intact, however. More than three-quarters of Democrats said they are likely to vote for Clinton if she chooses to run in 2016. It should come as no shock that Republicans don't hold the same view. Only 10 percent of GOP members have a positive view of Clinton, NBC News reported.
