Ossining Ambivalent About Baseball

OSSINING, N.Y. -- It may be the cold weather or the lack of postseason aspirations for the beleaguered New York Mets, but Ossining has not caught baseball fever yet.

Most patrons at Lucy's Pizzeria in Ossining said they were not fans of baseball, yet those that were said they were not excited yet for the season.

"I used to get excited," Tony Arpaia said. "But I don't love baseball like I did years ago."

Rene Marillo said the steroid era killed a lot of his love for baseball.

"You don't know who is clean and who is not," Marillo said. 

Marillo said he was looking forward to Derek Jeter's farewell season.

"Jeter is the face of baseball," Marillo said.
