Danbury Farmers' Market opens its seventh season on Saturday, June 25.
While listening to music, forage for greens to folk, pick up a pepper with pop, jam with jazz or buy a trio of apples with acoustic or acapella music -- and it's all Connecticut Grown.
The CityCenter Danbury Farmers Market, recognized for its nutrition-in-action program, "Better Food for Better Health," will open Saturday, June 25, at Kennedy Park at Elm Street and Main and run every Saturday through Oct. 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
"We believe that Farmers Markets are an integral part of any thriving community and are happy to be able to enhance this weekly event by sponsoring live music," said Justin Gaboury, Senior Community Manager of Kennedy Flats, which overlooks Kennedy Park.
"Having access to fresh local produce and handcrafted items outside of our doorstep is a tremendous asset to downtown residents," he added.
Additional funding for the Farmers' Market has been provided, in part, by the Connecticut Department of Agriculture through the Community Investment Act and Fairfield County's Community Foundation.
