Christian Villavicencio, who was behind the wheel of the 2002 Nissan Sentra, was taken to Morristown Medical Center with back and neck injuries after the 8 a.m. incident, Capt. Kenneth Fackina said.

Rosemary Conte, 50, of Wanaque -- who was driving a 2016 Honda CRV that was struck -- was taken to Chilton Hospital with neck and chest injuries and some facial cuts, Fackina said.

Neither victim had injuries that would be considered life-threatening, he said.

The driver of the sideswiped car, a 27-year-old Wanaque man, didn't require treatment at the scene.

Police were trying to determine what happened, the captain said. No summonses were immediately issued, he said.

Villavicencio was headed north on Ringwood Avenue in the area of Morningside Place when his car crossed into the southbound lane near the Lukoil gas station, Fackina said.

Chilton Hospital BLS responded along with ALS units.

Both vehicles sustained heavy front-nd damage and had to be removed by Justified Towing of Haskell.

Traffic was tied up for about an hour, with only one lane of Ringwood Avenue open, as the crash scene was cleared.
