The cheerleaders took some time on Wednesday afternoon at local stores. They gave out flowers and said thank you to community members for being a part of the community.

They also did simple good deeds for community members, helping put grocery bags in people's cars, walking them to their cars through the rain with umbrellas or simply saying, "Have a nice day."

The community members they assisted were thrilled with nice gestures the team offered.

"The Town of Yorktown is a great community, with tremendous support," senior captain Nicole McKinlay said. "It was so great today for our team to just say 'thank you' to community members. We wanted to let people know we appreciate them living in Yorktown."
