SHRUB OAK, N.Y. – Homecoming weekend returns to Lakeland High School this Friday with a carnival event and a number of varsity match-ups.
The school’s third annual homecoming carnival will begin Friday at 4 p.m., rain or shine. There will be carnival games and a dunk tank, craft activities, pumpkin decorating, face painting and more. Food and beverages will also be available for purchase.
Friday evening will be highlighted by Lakeland’s varsity football squad. The Hornets, who fell to 2-1 last week with a 19-17 loss to Hendrick Hudson High School, are looking to rebound against a 1-2 Fox Lane High School team.
Friday’s sports schedule (games are at Lakeland High School unless noted otherwise):
4:15 p.m.: Varsity volleyball vs. Walter Panas High School
4:15 p.m.: Girls varsity tennis at Walter Panas High School
4:30 p.m.: Girls junior varsity soccer vs. Walter Panas High School, at Van Cortlandtville Elementary School
4:30 p.m.: Varsity field hockey at Putnam Valley High School
5:45 p.m.: Junior varsity volleyball vs. Walter Panas High School
7 p.m.: Varsity football vs. Fox Lane High School
Saturday’s sports schedule:
9 a.m.: Boys and girls varsity cross country, Gressler Invitation, at White Plains High School.
9:30 a.m.: Junior varsity football at Fox Lane High School
11 a.m.: Boys varsity soccer at Arlington High School
11 a.m.: Boys junior varsity soccer vs. Arlington High School
