John Adeyeye, a junior at the Shrub Oak school, was nominated by Astronaut Buzz Aldrin. the second man on the moon in the 1969 Apollo 11 mission.
The program will be held from June 28-30 in Boston, Mass.
Adeyeye and other carefully selected student attendees will learn from a number of renowned science and technology leaders, including Nobel laureates and National Medal of Science winners.
Deans from the world’s most prestigious technical universities will also provide advice during the program.
Attendees will also receive free services and programs outside of the three-day event, including mentorship opportunities, internship and career guidance, and special social networks for future scientists to communicate with each other.
"This is a crucial time in America when we need more nimble-minded and creative scientists and technologists who are even better prepared for a future that is changing exponentially,” Richard Rossi, executive director of the National Academy of Future Scientists and Technologists, said in a press release.
“Focused, bright and determined students like John Adeyeye are our future and he deserves all the mentoring and guidance we can give him.”
