“They had to really listen hard for the first three very quiet kernels to pop, and tell us it was time to pour in the rest and then all of our other senses were discussed while corn was popping," said Alexandra Rundle, Head Teacher.
Students of Rundle's class learned learned how to pop corn in a pot and incorporated previous lessons on the five senses, as well as about the various types of corn. The class used Montessori methodology and incorporated math skills into their art while practicing fine motor skills
They glued real, freshly popped kernels onto their pieces of popcorn art.
Unused and uneaten popcorn was given to the squirrels and birds.
