The Foundation raised the funds in partnership with the H.W. Wilson Foundation and the Yorktown High School PTSA through several fundraisers throughout the school year. A majority of the funds were raised through the Healthy Yorktown 5K Run/Walk, a wine tasting, a comedy night and several other fundraisers, FFE representatives said in a press release.

"The Wilson foundation has been very generous with our causes, and this year we were so fortunate to accept a $10,000 donation," representatives with FFE said in the release. "We are grateful to the Wilson Foundation, and Jim Phelan for recognizing our community’s needs and the Foundation’s role in meeting them."

After contacting Yorktown High School PTSA President Dorothy Forcina, the groups decided to partner together and the PTSA contributed another $10,000 to assist with the grants. The Foundation recently presented a check in the amount of $53,151.82 to the Yorktown School District, covering grants at Yorktown High School, MESMS, Crompond, Brookside and Mohansic schools.
