The Mid-Hudson Valley chapter from The Association of Fundraising Professionals provided the award on Nov. 4 in recognition of the club's commitment to finding a cure for cancer. The ceremony was held at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel.

Colleges Against Cancer recently collaborated in a fundraiser with the Mount’s soccer teams. Proceeds from two separate games featuring the men's team and the women's team went toward funding ovarian-cancer research.

Officers of the Mount’s Colleges Against Cancer chapter are President Christina Antico of Smithtown, N.Y.; Vice President Diana Pernicano of Yorktown Heights; Treasurer Anthony Cona of Farmingdale, N.Y.; Secretary Laura Corveleyn of Union, N.J.; and advisor Caitlin Houlihan.
