Shows are at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with a 2 p.m. matinee Saturday. A free performance for senior citizens will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. All performances are in the Yorktown High School auditorium.

The performance consists of 26 dances from various genres, including ballet, pointe, modern, jazz, tap, hip-hop, Bollywood, Broadway, Irish, African, Latin (Cha Cha), hustle, East Coast swing, West Coast swing, Hawaiian, step, Broadway tap, kickline, lyrical and breakdance.

The company includes 90 male and female students from freshmen to seniors. Many of the male dancers are featured in a “Just Guys” number in the show.

Each spring, choreographers are selected to put together pieces for the following year’s show. The new dance numbers are prepared during the spring and summer. At the start of the school year, each dance must be approved and/or edited by Director Veronica Dwyer, who founded the company 39 years ago.

In September, auditions are held for new members.  Rehearsals begin in October, after the new members are selected. Most dancers are expected to rehearse daily for several hours after school from October through February.

Tickets for reserved seats are $15 each and are on sale in the high school lobby from 9:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. until Friday. Tickets will also be sold Wednesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Remaining tickets will be available at the door.
