Woman Pulls Necklace Off Victim's Neck, Yorktown Police Say YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A 24-year-old Yorktown woman was arrested and charged after police say she damaged a $175 gold necklace by pulling it off someone's neck. Bernadetta Nokaj was charged with criminal mischief in the fourth degree, a Class A Misdemeanor Saturday after police investigated a prior domestic incident. Nokaj was arrested at the scene and transported to police for processing. She is currently being held pending arraignment. She was previously arrested for allegedly stealing $432 in clothes from Sears and for failing to pay a fine.

Man Steals Nearly $9K From Jefferson Valley Mall Sears, Police Say YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- A man was arrested after police say he electronically completed fraudulent returns into his personal bank account from Sears at the Jefferson Valley Mall, totaling $8.964.77 Pablo Andrade, a 30-year-old New York City resident, was arrested and charged with grand larceny in the third degree, a Class D felony. His scheme ran from March 11 through April 17, Yorktown police said. Andrade was released on his own recognizance and is due back in court on July 11.
