NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Freshman Deanna Tozzo debuted with a win for the College of New Rochelle's tennis team, earning the Hudson Valley Women’s Athletic Conference tennis rookie of the week.
The Lakeland graduate and Shrub Oak resident followed up her impressive first match with wins at singles and doubles in the College of New Rochelle’s 9-0 victory over Medgar Evers. This recent performance earned Tozzo her second consecutive HVWAC tennis rookie of the week award.
Tozzo, the team’s No. 1 singles player, won her match 10-1 and teamed with Nancy Varughese to take their doubles match 8-2.
