PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Two of the better teams in the section - both unbeaten - squared off Thursday, as the Fox Lane High boys lacrosse team traveled to face defending Class C champion Pleasantville.
In a game that was tied 5-5 at halftime, it was the Foxes who took over with a 4-0 third period, to carry a 9-5 lead into the final 12 minutes.
The Panthers did manage to get three goals in the net in that last period, but the Foxes held on to earn an 11-8 victory, improving to 5-0.
Matt Leader led Fox Lane with four goals, and Cullen Morgan added a hat-trick and two assists.
Brian Reda led Pleasantville (4-1) with three goals.
