Josh Caray, who just stepped up to the plate with the minor league baseball team, is the grandson of famed Chicago Cubs broadcaster Harry Caray. His father, Skip, also broadcast baseball games for many years, and his brother, Chip, also calls games, Time Warner Cable News reported.

Caray admits his grandfather’s legacy is a little tough to live up to, but says he has learned from his family that calling games require more than just numbers; they have to tell a different story every time as well, the Time Warner Cable News report said.

The Long Island resident also does the play-by-play for the Stony Brook University Seawolves.

Caray, an Atlanta native, is a former anchor at KAVU-TV, a former reporter and editor at All-News 106.7, and a former anchor, reporter and assignment editor for News Radio 106.7/Fox 5 Television.

He attended the Lovett School, a college preparatory institution in Atlanta, and also earned a degree in communication and media studies at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta.

The Renegades play at Dutchess Stadium in the town of Fishkill.
