SHRUB OAK, N.Y. - Coming off of a solid 2015 season that saw the Hornets miss the playoffs, but still finish at 5-3, Lakeland High's football team is experiencing a youth movement.

Lakeland lost most of the starters from last year's team, leaving the Hornets with a lot of openings for young talent.

And 17th-year head coach Rob Cappelli believes he has the players who have the ability and the determination to do some good things.

"We're very young," Cappelli told Daily Voice during a visit to the Hornets' training camp. "We only have four returning starters with experience, so we'll have to work and grow."

Watch the video to see Daily Voice talk to Cappelli and team leaders Brian Farole and Kevin Moore about the upcoming season, which gets underway with a September 2 home opener against Somers at 7 p.m.
