SHRUB OAK, N.Y. – Lakeland graduate Emma Bozek is one win away from winning another championship, this one on the collegiate level.

Bozek, who helped lead Lakeland to three consecutive New York State Class B championships, earned a berth in the NCCA Division I Field Hockey Championship final with her University of North Carolina teammates following a 6-1 semi-final win over Syracuse Friday in Norfolk, Va.

North Carolina will play the Princeton-Maryland winner for the title at 1 p.m. Sunday.

While Bozek, who had a goal and an assist in UNC’s first-round win over Stanford, is going for a national championship, her younger sister, Dana, will be playing in the New York State Final Four with Lakeland.
