The Knicks returned home to the Garden for the first time in the 2012 NBA playoffs to face the Miami Heat on Thursday night in the third game of their first-round series. Miami holds a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.
The Heat thrashed the Knicks, 100-67, in game one in Miami and then took game two, 104-94. To make matters worse for the Knicks, they are playing Thursday’s game without forward Amar’e Stoudemire, who cut his left hand after game two when he punched the glass surrounding a fire extinguisher in the locker room.
Miami’s Chris Bosh, whose son was born early Thursday, returned to New York and was expected to play in the game.
The fourth, and possibly final, game in the series will be played Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at Madison Square Garden.
