Pace Athletics Set For A Big Week Of Events

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – There's plenty going on involving Pace University athletics, with a noteworthy coaching addition and some big events later this week.

Football Head Coach Andrew Rondeau has announced that Darnell Stapleton will be joining his staff as assistant coach for the 2014 season, according to a press release. Stapleton, a starter on the offensive line for the Pittsburgh Steelers will serve as the offensive line coach for the Setters this season.

Rondeau will be also be preparing for an upcoming event with Brandon Steiner CEO of Steiner Sports Marketing, Inc.

Pace University President Stephen Friedman will welcome Steiner for a discussion and Q&A on Wednesday, Jan. 29 on the Pace New York City  campus.

Steiner Sports will bring special guests, Baltimore Ravens Running Back Ray Rice and Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee John Riggins, to celebrate Super Bowl XLVIII. The event will take place at the Michael Schimmel Center for the Arts from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. For more information, click here.

Men’s basketball will also be hosting Alumni Day as it takes on rival Bentley University on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 3:30 p.m.. All men's basketball alumnus are invited to attend the game, reconnect with former teammates, and cheer on the current team as they compete in an important conference game under the guidance of new Head Coach Pat Kennedy. Men’s basketball alumni Matt Baldini, founder of Baldini Law is in the Setter alumni spotlight this week. Throughout his playing career, Baldini appeared in 118 games making 86 starts. He scored 1,099 points, averaging 9.3 points per game and remains sixth on the Setters all-time list with 187 three-pointers. For more information about Baldini, click here.
