The Royal Caledonian Curling Club ventured to Westchester from Scotland in early February, said Westchester County Executive Robert Astorino.

The Scottish club took on several curling teams in the United States as each team vied for the Herries Maxwell Trophy, according to Astorino, who said the tournament takes place every five years and alternates between countries.

"It's great to host the Royal Caledonian Curling Club here in the Westchester," Astorino said. "The Herries Maxwell Challenge has been a tradition between the United States and Scotland for over 60 years and we are all proud of Westchester's participation."
