CORTLANDT MANOR, N.Y. – Four former Panthers were inducted into Walter Panas High School’s Athletic Hall of Fame class of 2012 Friday night during the varsity football team’s homecoming game against Riverside High School, which it won in a 50-6 rout.

Inducted were:

• Tracy Cottrell-Parchen, class of 1993, played field hockey, basketball and softball.

• Tom Cottrell, class of 1993, played football, basketball and baseball.

• Sean Lindsay, class of 2000, played lacrosse and football.

• Pete Kelly, coach and athletic director who retired in 1998. In addition to serving as athletic director from 1972 to 1998, Kelly coached boys and girls basketball, baseball, tennis and cross country during his career at Panas.

Thunderstorm Warnings Posted For Westchester For Tuesday

WESTCHESTER, N.Y. - The National Weather Service posted a thunderstorm warning for southern Westchester County at 1:50 p.m. Tuesday.

The storms could be accompanied by lightning, hail and high winds of up to 50 mph, the weather service said.

Bacteria ID'd As Cause Of Westchester Food Event Illnesses

VALHALLA, N.Y. – The bacteria that sickened some festival-goers who attended Westchester’s Burger and Beer Bash at Kensico Dam in Valhalla earlier this month has been identified as Campylobacter, the county department of health announced Monday.
