Yorktown's Mohansic Holds Hole-In-One Junior Golf Camp

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Westchester County Parks are offering sports summer camps for youngsters to partake in while out of school.

A rundown of summer camps available is:

Perfect Pitch and Swing Baseball Camp: Provides children ages 8-12 with training that uses unique and innovative methods, combining traditional baseball skills with disciplines from other sports at V.E. Macy Park in Ardsley. Daily schedule is from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and includes drills, hitting, throwing/pitching and fielding instruction and games. Camp is in five, one-week sessions beginning Monday, June 29. For information, call (914) 231-4673 for brochure and application.

Slam Dunk Basketball Camp: Boys and girls in grades 3-9 can hit the boards at the air-conditioned Westchester County Center. Camp is from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and lunch is provided daily for campers. Four, one-week sessions begin Monday, June 29.  For more information and for a special group registration form, call (914) 231-4673.

Girls' Volleyball Camp: For grades 6-12 is available at the Westchester County Center. The camp is for two, one-week sessions beginning Monday, July 27 and Monday, Aug. 3. Hours are 3-5 p.m. for middle school (grades 6–8) and 6-9 p.m. for high school players (grades 9-12). For more information, call (914) 231-4673.

The Challenger Sports Soccer Camp:  For boys and girls in grades 1-9 is offered at V.E. Macy Park in Ardsley. Operated by the prestigious Westchester Soccer Academy, top-notch coaching is offered to kids in grades 1-9 in half- and full-day programs. Hole-in-One Junior Golf Camp: Offered at the six county golf courses: Dunwoodie and Sprain Lake in Yonkers, Hudson Hills in Ossining, Maple Moor in White Plains, Mohansic in Yorktown Heights and Saxon Woods in Scarsdale. Taught by top Professional Golf Association pros, the camp meets for two hours, four days a week. Times and days vary at each course. Kids ages 10-17 can hit the greens during the “Hole-in-One” Junior Golf Camp. Call for more information at (914) 231-4673.
