Yorktown Cheerleaders Recognized As All-Americans

YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- The Universal Cheerleading Association recently held a camp at Yorktown's Mildred E. Strang Middle School, and many Yorktown students were recognized as UCA All-Americans for their grade.

The Yorktown cheerleaders who got this recognition include, in the front row, from left, juniors Aja O'Briskie, Sienna Giorgio and Lindsay Baker; senior Claudia Cappa; junior Kristin Petinatto; senior Julianne Statler; and freshman Alyson Giorgio.

The All-Americans in the back row, from the left, are sophomore Julianne Strauss; freshmen Juliana Poggioreal and Erin Dahlke; sophomore Elise Palumbo; freshmen Ashley Drake, Julia Santini and Ciara Morabito; sophomore Nikki Lupinacci; juniors Francesca Altamari and Kaeleigh Aulicino; senior Grader Taryn Tropea; and freshman Heidi Lajqi.

Nicole McKinlay, a senior, also received recogniton.

Recipients of these awards are also invited to UCA events. The 10th- through 12th-grade All-Americans are invited to participate on the UCA London Tour in December. The ninth-grade recipients are invited to participate with the UCA during the Thanksgiving parade in Philadelphia.
