Yorktown Grad Named to NEWMAC Second Team

Christina Leader, a Yorktown graduate, returned for her sophomore year on the Springfield College softball field healthy and ready to make a major contribution.
Leader, who missed part of her freshman year with injuries, earned a starting position, was moved to the lead-off spot in the batting order and produced a fine season.
She was rewarded by being named to the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference softball second team. Teammate Kasey Kelly was also a second-team pick.
Leader, a  2010 Yorktown graduate, hit .348 (46 for 132), scored 23 runs, had 13 RBI and had nine stolen bases. Leader was second on the team with a .407 on-base percentage. Leader, Springfield’s center fielder, finished with 39 put outs and six assists.
