YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. - After advancing to the Section 1 Class A semifinals last fall - where the team suffered an agonizing, last-minute loss to Rye - the Yorktown High football team returns hungry for another shot at the playoffs this fall.

"We've had some exciting moments," Huskers coach Mike Rescigno told Daily Voice during a recent visit to Yorktown's camp. "Kids and coaches are on point, and the kids are having fun. We're hoping for a good season."

Yorktown will look to team captains Dom Cioffi, Jose Boyer, Max Costello, Anthony Dicanio, Steven Veteri and Justin Cavallo for leadership.

Check out the video to see Daily Voice talk to Rescigno and several of the team's captains about the upcoming season. Yorktown is set to open the season Friday, September 2, facing John Jay CR at 7 p.m.
