Yorktown High Junior Varsity Basketball Wins Summer League Title

YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- The Yorktown High School Junior Varsity boys basketball team captured the House of Sports Junior Varsity Summer League Basketball Championship with an overall record of 7-1.

The Huskers topped Peekskill 33-31 in the playoff semifinal game on a Trevor Bocian game-winning 3-point shot at the buzzer to earn a spot in the title game against Good Counsel of Greenburgh.

In the finals, Yorktown played suffocating defense, hit timely shots and pulled away in the second half, winning 41-33.

Coach Chris Caputi said he was proud of the team’s toughness and never-say-die attitude.

The Huskers roster is Bryan Enriquez, Joe Costella, Jesse Bambach, Tim Martz, Ben Schmitz, Coach Chris Caputi, Theo Coutsouros, Ryan Curran, Trevor Bocian, Ryan Hill, Adam Blaney and Glenn O’Loughlin.
