The contest is sponsored by USA Football. If Bucello wins, the Yorktown Athletic Club gets $5,000 in new equipment, a Teen Mon of the Year jersey, a $500 spa gift certificate and a prize pack.

The top 10 finalists get $1,000 in new equipment, a $100 Sports Authority gift card and a prizepack.

Bucello recently moved to Yorktown and immediately jumped into being part of the community.

"I wear many hats," Bucello said. "My family are all volunteer coaches. I help them coordinate with the paperwork and organize donations. I bring snacks for the kids. My mother-in-law makes meatballs."

Bucello's husband is from Yorktown and when they had children, her husband thought it was the best place  to raise a family.

"I fell in love with Yorktown," Bucello said. "I came up kicking and screaming. I was a down county girl, Yorktown was like being in the sticks. Getting in my car to do everything was foreign to me. But I love being a part of the community and I'm very pleased we moved here. It was the best decision."

The equipment will allow for smaller tackling dummies, new helmets and overall better equipment for the YAC Huskers.

"We practice at the Sports Barn," Bucello said. "We don't have enough fields, so it's often five teams all spread out. Getting the equipment would be huge."
