Crash Jams I-66 In Fairfax County Traffic was backed up for nearly two miles due to a crash on I-66 Monday afternoon, April 22 in Fairfax County. The multi-vehicle crash happened at milepost 64.4 in Merrifield, the VDOT site says. As of 1:20 p.m. two miles of delays were being reported with the east right center lane, right lane, and right shoulder closed.

Multi-Vehicle Crash Closes I-695 In Washington DC A multi-vehicle crash closed a portion of I-695 in Washington DC. According to MATOC, the westbound lanes were closed at I-395 southbound (Third Street Tunnel SW) around 1 p.m. on Monday, April 22. Three left lanes were blocked with vehicles getting by the scene to the right under authority direction. Delays begin near the 11th Street Bridge.

Woman Forced Into Woods By Stranger Who Sexually Assaulted Her In Prince William County: Cops Police are searching for the man who a 35-year-old woman said grabbed her and sexually assaulted her in Manassas over the weekend. The victim was walking near Fairmount Avenue and Anvil Drive between 11:30 p.m. Friday, April 19 and 12:30 a.m. Saturday, April 20, when she was grabbed by a complete stranger, Prince William County police said. The man forced the victim into a nearby wooded area where she was sexually assaulted. The two eventually separated, and the victim called the police. Detectives are asking anyone who may have information regarding this incident to contact police. …

Drunk Stafford Man Driving On Rim Was 2X Over Legal Limit: Sheriff A 34-year-old Stafford man arrested for driving under the influence was missing a tire when authorities spotted him on the I-95 ramp over the weekend, police said. Stafford County Sheriff's Deputy K.W. Suter heard what sounded like a vehicle driving on its rims just before 3 a.m. Saturday, April 20, a spokesperson for the county sheriff's office said. Arsonist, 44, Charged In West Deptford Church Fire: Police A 44-year-old man has been charged with arson in connection with a blaze that broke out at a South Jersey church, police said. Brian Cannon is believed to have set fire to the Colonial Manor United Methodist Church on Elberne Avenue in West Deptford on Friday, April 20, local police said. He was charged with two counts of arson and aggravated assault. Multiple fire companies responded to the church around 6:40 a.m. Friday. One firefighter was hospitalized with an injury suffered fighting the blaze, and has since been released.

1 Dead In Mid-Day Philadelphia Crash, Driver Detained: Police Police in Philadelphia are investigating a deadly mid-day crash that happened Sunday, April 21. A red Nissan Pathfinder lost control and struck a tree in the left median on the 400 block of Roosevelt Boulevard N around 12:30 p.m., city police said. Two juveniles, the driver and a passenger, were taken to St. Christopher Hospital by Medic 29. The rear passenger was declared dead at the scene by Medic 29 at 12:54 p.m., police said. The driver was detained for investigation.
