County In Hudson Valley Granted Temporary Restraining Order Barring More Migrants After several busloads of migrants and asylum seekers arrived in a Hudson Valley town without warning, the county has been granted a temporary restraining order barring more. Dutchess County was granted the order by Dutchess County Supreme Court Judge Maria Rosa on Tuesday, May 23, said Dutchess County Executive William O'Neil. Move To Ban Single-Use Plastic Bottle Toiletries Gains Steam In New York Tiny plastic bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash in hotels may soon be a thing of the past in New York as lawmakers continue efforts to reduce plastic waste statewide. Long Island Sen. Todd Kaminsky announced a proposal this week that would prohibit hotels from providing patrons with single-use plastic toiletries. Instead, guests may see wall-mounted dispensers, multi-use bottles or non-plastic containers used. Resorts World Holding Job Fair In Hudson Valley Want to work in a casino? The State Labor Department is hosting jobs fairs for Resorts World Catskills, which is opening in Sullivan County. Job fairs are being held Wednesday, Jan. 17 from noon to 7 p.m. at the Holiday Inn at 68 Crystal Run Road in Middletown and on Wednesday, Jan. 24 from noon to 7 p.m. at Courtyard by Marriott at 24 Crystal Run Crossing in Middletown.  Some of the current positions include bartenders, cocktail servers, cage cashiers, cooks, servers, housekeepers, stewards, and security.  For more information, click here.
