Its time the people of Westchester County voted out all career politicians and had just one decent candidate run for DA for a change. We are sick and tired of the bs and the Police Cover ups and the political favors being done. Its time everyone be held accountable for their own actions and the heck with the immunity bs laws. DA's and County attorneys should not be entitled to immunity when they break that sworn oath that they were sworn to uphold. No one is above the law. We need to set the bar up higher and hold public officials accountable, aspecially when they are in a position of trust and break that trust by breaking the law that they were sworn to uphold !!! In Somers thats all they do is over assess everyones home or business. The town Supervisor is well aware of it too and does nothing to correct it. The town is in need of a new governing body and out with the career politicians. Every town board and department is under Supervisor Murphy's control. Why have a Planning board or ZBA when the town board is in complete control of each board and most of its members who are hand picked? Why does the town of Somers need attorneys advising the Planning board and the town board? View Comment

Peter, Your a little later with your proposals don't you think? There was no communications between the power companies and the local municipalities and no one dis anything when we had those 3 terriblle storms back in 2011, and people were without power everywhere for 7 or 8 days. Town's like Somers or Yorktown did'nt even have any emergency plan in place. Mr. Harckham is spends our tax dollars like water and comes up with these proposes almost a year after the damage was already done when we should have that these laws in place years ago. Maybe if these career politicians got up off there butts and did somethiong for the people once in a while that maybe people would'nt have had to be put through such a nightmare. Tax payers even pay for these career politicians cell phones bills and vehicles that are mostly used for personal usage in 9 out of 10 cases. When will us tax payers ever get a fair shake in in westchester county? People wonder why we are the highest taxed in the nation? Its because of these career politicians and the out of control spending without any monitoring or control over these local officials and employees. Just wish I could write a few Bills of my own, id have Mr. Harckhams head spinning once I got done. There would be more accountability and monitoring of all Public officials and employees spending, and accountability as to their ethical conduct. We need to set the bar much higher for everyone who is in a position of trust. We must have accountability and transparency in our County and throughout the U.S.A. We give immunity to DA's and County attorneys but in my opinion everyone must be held accountable for their own actions. The winery at St. George is a nice place to go to relax but the selection of wines needs improvement. I personally tasted 10 wines that were suppose to be the best they had. If you ask me, i'll stick with the homemade wines to taste anyday of the week. The selections have to be upgraded and the food was'nt too bad but they need to start tasting the food before they serve it because I ordered one dish that had too much salt. As far as the service goes, it was great and tom is in a class of his own. Good Guy. View Comment

Dear Mr. Cuomo, Just how much of that budget is wasteful or misused spending? I guarntee those billions of dollars could be reduced if carefully monitored and controled. If she is voted on the town board, then there will be no-one to oppose Murphy and her political machine that controles every board and every department in the town of Somers.
