The goal is to raise $10,000 to complete the project.

Success of the fundraiser requires businesses and residents to donate monies to purchase the geraniums.

Started by a small group of business people on Tarrytown’s Main Street several years ago, the Chamber of Commerce took over to expand it to Broadway two years ago and this year, they will include Beekman Avenue in Sleepy Hollow.

Sleepy Hollow is redoing the sidewalks on Broadway, making it impossible to include Broadway in Sleepy Hollow.

Next year, the Chamber hopes to expand it to Broadway in Sleepy Hollow as well, said executive director Tina Zagrobelny.

Success of the fundraiser requires businesses and residents to donate monies to purchase the geraniums.

A plaque is placed on the light pole below the potted plants naming the business, individual or family that donated the funds.

Many people use this as an opportunity to dedicate the plants to a loved one.

The two villages match the funds proportionately to help meet the actual cost to do the project.
