Blues Musician Leads Justin Veatch Workshop In Yorktown

YORKTOWN, N. Y. -- Aspiring musicians have a chance to work with Blues musician and guitarist Geoff Hartwell on Saturday in Yorktown as part of The Justin Veatch Fund Music Workshop Series.

In addition to being a guitarist, Hartwell is a songwriter, producer and teacher based in New York City. He's worked with with some Blues legends as Gregg Allman, Sonny Landreth, Tab Benoit and others. He's also worked with several New York City Irish music institutions such as The McLean Avenue Band, Jameson's Revenge and Shilelagh Law.

The fee for the session, which runs from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, is $35. It will be held at the Yorktown Community and Cultural Center, 1924 Commerce St., Yorktown. To register, visit the website.

Attendees should bring their own instrument, but any accessories will be provided. The Justin Veatch Fund Music Workshop offers monthly sessions for aspiring musicians to learn from those already successful in the industry.

The Justin Veatch Fund was established in honor of a Yorktown teen and aspiring musician who died from a heroin overdose. Through fundraising and programs, the fund helps support other young musicians. For more, visit the website.
