“As a staple to the Yorktown community, we are excited to once again host Yorktown Community Day,” said Alexa O’Rourke, marketing director at Jefferson Valley Mall. “We encourage local families and friends to enjoy this event as well as the shopping, dining and entertainment options available at Jefferson Valley Mall.”
The free event will feature local exhibits, attractions, activities and family entertainment from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Natalie Battisti from WP Glimcher will kick-off the celebration with a presentation about the mall's redevelopment plans.
YOUnited will follow with the "Three Cheers for Yorktown Volunteer" ceremony. Yorktown Supervisor Michael Grace will award honorees from nonprofit organizations with a proclamation.
Ceremonies will close with the announcement of the Yorktown Youth Soccer Participation Award.
Yorktown Community Day will feature free dance and musical performances by local artists, as well as food trucks, demonstrations by Yorkville Sports Association, a Grand Prix inspired go-kart track, face painting and more.
Several mall retailers will offer special promotions during the event.
