YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Yorktown Heights' Support Connection, Inc. is inviting women nationwide to participate in a free educational webinar on clinical trials and ovarian cancer on

Thursday, Sept. 15. Dr. Stephanie Blank, a Gynecologic Oncologist at the NYU Clinical Cancer Center, and a Principal Investigator in numerous cancer research studies will be the guest speaker.

Blank is an Associate Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at the NYU School of Medicine, where she also serves as Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship Director, and Associate Division Director of Gynecologic Oncology.

Blank’s research interests include targeted therapeutics and novel agents, fertility preservation in women with cancer, and cancer screening and prevention, with a focus on translational studies.

Topics will include: Myths and realities: what exactly are clinical trials; When to consider clinical trials; How to find clinical trials you’re eligible for; How to approach your doctor about participating in a clinical trial regardless of where the trial is being conducted; Targeted therapies; The role of genetics; What’s on the horizon.

A question and answer period will follow.

The program is free, but registration is required.
