Mohegan Lake's Jennifer Czarniecki is the new Mrs. Westchester.

Czarniecki was recently named Mrs. Westchester by the Mrs. New York America Pageant and will be going to Rochester in October to try to win Mrs. New York.

Mrs. Westchester is a pageant for married women and Czarniecki said the honor was unexpected.

"It's so exciting," Czarniecki said. "It has really become a wonderful thing. You get to go out into the community and promote your title."

Czarniecki said she plans to use her platform to raise money and awareness for the Match of Dimes, participating in a walk in April. As a mother of two premature babies, the issue hits close to home for Czarniecki.

"I am representing my title and representing my children," Czarniecki said.

Czarniecki also plans to advocate for people with intellectual disabilities, having worked with them for 13 years.

"We want to help people go to the Special Olympics," Czarniecki said. "It's very dear to my heart. Working with people with intellectual disabilities started out as a college job and has become my calling and passion in life."

Czarniecki, who has been married for two-and-a-half years and has 4.5-month old twins, said her family is very excited about her title.

"They are making plans for October to come to Rochester and see me," Czarniecki said.

At the pageant, Czarniecki will go through an interview segment, wear swimwear and evening wear. If she wins, she will compete in the Mrs. America competition.

Czarniecki said she pumped for the pageant.

"The swimwear part will be nerve wracking but I am looking forward to the interview portion," Czarniecki said. "I love talking with people and answering questions."

Unlike past beauty pageant contestants whose less than stellar answers have gone viral, Czarniecki promises to do well.

"I won't give any silly answers," Czarniecki said.
