$15 Minimum Wage Likely To Cost NY Jobs, Report Says

ALBANY, N.Y. - A report recently released by the Empire Center for Public Policy and the American Action Forum says that the coming increase of the states minimum wage to $15 will likely cost the New York nearly 200,000 jobs, on the low end.

The report looked at the impact on employment for a minimum wage of either $15 and $12, New York State of Politics reported.

E.J. McMahon, president of the Empire Center, is quoted as saying that the Center's report shows that the increase to the minimum wage could actually hurt the low-wage, low-skill workers it is designed to help.

A brief summary of the report is available here
