The new owners, Michael Kaphan and Edward Taylor, said the boat would be docked outside their new restaurant in the Hudson Harbor development slated to open by July 4, said lohud.com.
Named after John D. McKean, a fallen firefighter and marine engineer John D. McKean, the boat's crew pulled more than 200 civilians to safety on Sept. 11. Taylor, who said they will keep the boat's name, plan to sail it to its new home next week; it is currently docked at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, added lohud.com.
