To the Editor:(A poem by Mark Lieberman)

Have you been somewhere on Route 35?

Have you tried to make a left?

Have you tried to stay alive?

What about a left into the Triangle Shopping Center?

Have you tried that lately?

How long to enter?

The traffic is so bad you can wait and wait and wait.

Or you can take your chances, gun it,And leave it up to fate.

Mornings on Route 35 can be gruesome if you’re headed to the Taconic.

The evenings can be worse, the problem is so chronic.

It can take 20 minutes from the post office. To get BJ's or to Staples.

Alternatives like Ridge and Hallocks Mill are becoming more popular.

As the traffic gets more and more spectacular.

People cut through the Roma lot to avoid the light.

Drivers are so frustrated they don’t always do what’s right.

So leave plenty of time as from here to there you go.

“Progress With Preservation” is the Yorktown motto.

So when planning for a new apartment house on 202

Or any project that for Yorktown is brand new.

How about we make it better before we make it worse?

So we can make a left without screaming out a curse.
