RYE, N.Y. -- Family and friends mourned the death of Robby Schartner — a Manhattanville College lacrosse player who was struck and killed by an allegedly drunk driver — Wednesday morning at a funeral Mass at the Church of the Resurrection in Rye.

Schartner, 21, who grew up in Rye, graduated from Brookfield, Conn., High School and lived in Fishkill, was pronounced dead at the scene after he was hit by a 2012 Nissan Sentra driven by 24-year-old Emma Fox, of Rye, at Westchester Avenue and Anderson Hill Road in White Plains at about 5 a.m. Sunday.

Fox who had a blood-alcohol content more than double the legal limit, was charged with vehicular manslaughter and aggravated DWI and is being held on $100,000 bail.
