Margaret Trotta, 88, Yorktown Resident

YORKTOWN, N.Y. – Margaret Locantore Trotta, of Yorktown Heights, formally of Bedford, died Monday, May 23 after a short illness. She was 88.

She was born March 1, 1928, in the Bronx. She was once a co-owner of the Bedford Book and Gift Barn. She was a wife and mother who loved planning family vacations and gatherings. She enjoyed cooking for her family, watching the New York Giants and Yankees, taking trips to Mohegan Sun casino and spoiling her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Patrick Trotta; her three sons, James (Laura), Michael (Joanne) and Paul (Jill); two grandchildren, Stefanie Hendrix (Brad) and Chris Trotta; step-granddaughter (Amanda Davis); and two great-grandchildren.

A wake will be conducted from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday with a service immediately following at Yorktown Funeral Home, 945 E. Main St., Shrub Oak. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
