YORKTOWN, N.Y. – Two Mohegan Lake boys under the age of 12 were arrested and charged with juvenile delinquency following two burglaries on Wednesday, May 20, at the Crazy Paint paintball shop on Route 6, Yorktown police reported.
Police were summoned by an automatic alarm to the paintball shop at about 7:30 p.m. and saw signs of a forced entry. At about 9 p.m. the same evening, police received a second alarm activation and detected another burglary. Police say a 9-year-old boy participated in both burglaries, while an 11-year-old boy took part in one.
The boys were issued appearance tickets to Family Court and released to the custody of a parent.
Had the crimes been committed by adults, the charge would have been third-degree burglary, a felony, police said.
