Man Passed Out Behind Wheel Found With Heroin, Meth In Putnam, Police Say

A man who passed out behind the wheel of his car after using heroin is facing jail time after being busted in Putnam in possession of meth and other drugs, Kent Police said.

Police received a call from a concerned member of the community at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 2, stating that there was a man in an SUV in a parking lot near Route 52 who appeared to be passed out behind the wheel.

Responding officers were able to wake up Kent resident Brian Flandreau, 39, after he allegedly used heroin and passed out. Further investigation found numerous bags of heroin, several bags of methamphetamine and a hypodermic needle.

Flandreau was arrested and charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of a hypodermic instrument. Following arraignment, he was remanded to the Putnam County Correctional Facility in lieu of $7,500 cash bail or $15,000 bond. He is due back in court later this year to answer the charges.
